BALTIMORE -- Right-hander Kevin Gausman delivered the Orioles' third straight strong start, helping guide his team to a three-game winning streak with a 10-2 victory over the Rangers on Wednesday night at Camden Yards. The Rangers have now lost four consecutive games, including three to the Orioles.
Gausman did exactly what Chris Tillman and Dylan Bundy did to the Rangers in the first two games of the series, holding them to one run in six innings. He allowed four hits, walked two and struck out eight before turning it over to the bullpen.
"I'm trying to throw my sinker and my four-seam, mix them up a little bit more," Gausman said. "I can't throw everything straight like my four-seam. So, I'm trying to keep the hitters guessing a little bit more and tonight I just pitched. I used my offspeed pitches and had good fastball command for the most part."
Orioles pitchers have allowed four runs in the first three games against the Rangers after allowing 27 in three games while being swept by the Cubs over the weekend. The four runs over 27 innings were equal to the four runs scored by the Cubs in the first inning of the first game after the All-Star break.
"We have hit a bad moment as a team, but they are making good pitches, too," Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus said. "Sometimes as an offense you have to tip your cap when they are making good pitches."
Martin Perez took the loss for the Rangers, allowing five runs in six-plus innings to bring an end to his personal three-game winning streak. The Rangers' first run was a fifth-inning solo shot by Joey Gallo. It was his 22nd of the year and first since June 30.

Robinson Chirinos added another with an RBI single in the ninth, driving home Mike Napoli.
"Tough day for everybody," Perez said. "We just need stay with our heads up. We have a good team, we need to stay together and come back tomorrow and try to win. Good days are coming, we have to stay strong through the bad days."
The Orioles led, 3-1, into the seventh before breaking it open with seven runs off Perez and reliever Matt Bush. Trey Mancini started the rally with a leadoff single and later provided the big blow with a three-run triple.

"We put a lot of good at-bats together that inning and just kind of kept the line moving there," Mancini said. "But [Gausman] was just incredible tonight. He pitched with great pace, much like Dylan did last night. As an offense, it's nice to always have those quick innings and it definitely benefited us. All the credit really goes to [Gausman] there."
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Jones provides leadoff spark:Adam Jones gave the Orioles a 1-0 lead with a leadoff home run in the first inning off Perez. It was only Jones' third home run off a left-hander this year in 96 at-bats. He had just three in 147 at-bats against them last year.
"I was late," Jones said. "I was late, trying to pull it. I was late, just trying to hit the ball hard anywhere it goes. I don't care, line-to-line."

Big hit with two outs: The Orioles entered the game hitting .275 with runners in scoring position and two outs, and they added to that in the third. The Orioles were leading, 1-0, when Jones singled with two outs and Manny Machado walked. Jonathan Schoop followed with a double high off the right-field scoreboard to bring home two runs.

"[Jones] likes being in the middle of everything. It's kind of his whole persona," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. "Adam doesn't mind being in the middle of things and being counted on to be that guy. I don't think there's any coincidence. He likes to play, he likes to compete, he likes to win."

Rangers: Left-hander Cole Hamels pitches against the Orioles at 6:05 p.m. CT Thursday in the last of the four-game series. Hamels has not allowed a run in his last 21 innings, the longest active streak in the Major Leagues. He is 1-1 with a 3.10 ERA in his three starts against the Orioles since being traded to the Rangers.
