Paul Konerko and Gordon Beckham raise funds for foster children at Rockit Bar & Grill

"Grand Slam Party" benefits Children's Home + Aid

CHICAGO - Chicago White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko and second baseman Gordon Beckham are coming together to raise money for Children's Home + Aid during a "Grand Slam Party" at Rockit Bar & Grill on Sunday, August 25.

The annual event includes cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, courtesy of Rockit Bar & Grill, and Children's Home + Aid also will hold a raffle and silent auction. During the event, Konerko and Beckham will personally meet guests in attendance.

In 2007, Konerko and his wife, Jennifer, launched the Bring Me Home Campaign, which Beckham joined in 2010, to raise support for the needs of foster children through public awareness, advocacy and fundraising efforts.

Over the past six years, the Bring Me Home Campaign has raised more than $400,000 to benefit foster children and families served by Children's Home + Aid.

Tickets are $75 per person and a limited amount remain available. Online registration closes Friday, August 23, and those interested in attending should register at www.childrenshomeandaid.org. Tickets may still be purchased at the door on the day of the event.
