CHICAGO -- Cubs third baseman Kristopher Bryant maintained his positional lead and Jason Heyward was third among outfielders in the latest National League All-Star fan balloting, released on Monday. The 2017 All-Star Game presented by MasterCard will be played on July 11 in Miami.
Bryant has received 1,603,326 votes, while two-time All-Star Nolan Arenado of the Rockies is a close second with 1,300,612 votes. Bryant was batting .264 with 15 home runs, 28 RBIs and 14 doubles. Arenado had quite the Sunday when he hit for the cycle, finishing with a three-run, walk-off homer.
Bryant is bidding for his second consecutive fan-elected start, while Arenado is trying to become the first Rockies third baseman to earn a fan election.
Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo remained second to the Nationals' Ryan Zimmerman. Zimmerman has received 1,404,251 votes, while Rizzo has 1,247,219. Rizzo is vying for his fourth career All-Star selection (2014-16) and second straight fan-elected start.

Heyward (973,333 votes) is third among NL outfielders behind the Nationals' Bryce Harper and the Rockies' Charlie Blackmon. Benjamin Zobrist is fourth (887,804), followed by the Marlins' Marcell Ozuna (871,393); the Braves' Matt Kemp (835,324); the Marlins' Giancarlo Stanton (823,558); and Cubs teammate Kyle Schwarber (775,212). The six outfielders are separated by less than 200,000 votes.

Javier Baez is second to the Nationals' Daniel Murphy in the second-base race, Willson Contreras is second to the Giants' Buster Posey among catchers, and Addison Russell is third at shortstop behind the Reds' Zack Cozart and the Dodgers' Corey Seager.
The Cubs made All-Star history last year by becoming the second team to have its entire infield to start an All-Star Game as Rizzo, Zobrist, Russell and Bryant were elected to the NL team. The only other team to accomplish that feat was the 1963 Cardinals.
This is the first time Schwarber, Baez and Contreras have been included on the All-Star ballot.
