MINNEAPOLIS -- Outfielder Kyle Tucker, the Astros' top-ranked position-player prospect and their No. 2 prospect overall according to MLBPipeline.com, has been promoted to Double-A Corpus Christi and was in the Hooks' starting lineup as the designated hitter on Tuesday night against Springfield.
Tucker, the No. 5 overall pick in the 2015 MLB Draft, was hitting .288/.379/.554 with 31 runs, 12 doubles, four triples, nine homers and 43 RBIs in 177 at-bats for Class A Advanced Buies Creek. He was promoted with outfielder Jason Martin and infielder Arturo Michelena. Additionally, right-hander Dean Deetz and outfielder Alejandro Garcia were sent to Triple-A Fresno from Corpus Christi.
The 20-year-old Tucker ranks among the Carolina League leaders in RBIs (second), extra-base hits (25, tied for third), total bases (98, fourth), homers (fifth) and slugging (fifth). Tucker reached base in 27 consecutive games from April 20 to May 20.
Deetz (1.82 ERA, 0.91 WHIP in 39 2/3 innings at Corpus Christi) will make his Triple-A debut Sunday when he starts at home against Tacoma. Garcia batted .393 (24-for-61) in his Triple-A debut for Fresno at the end of last season (17 games). Deetz is the team's No. 30 prospect. 
Martin, an eighth-round pick of the Astros in 2013, hit .287 with 11 doubles, two triples, seven home runs, 29 RBIs and nine steals in 46 games for Buies Creek. The 21-year-old belted three homers and drove in five runs May 7 at Myrtle Beach.
