A's acquire Doubront from Blue Jays for cash

The A's acquired left-hander Felix Doubront on Friday from the Blue Jays for cash considerations.

Doubront, 27, was designated for assignment by Toronto on Wednesday after the Blue Jays acquired shortstop Troy Tulowitzki from the Rockies.

The lefty split this season with Toronto and Triple-A Buffalo, going 1-1 with a 4.76 ERA in five Major League games (four starts) and 1-3 with a 2.44 ERA in nine Minor League starts.

He is 29-24 with a 4.78 ERA in 107 Major League games (77 starts) with the Red Sox, Cubs and Blue Jays.
