LHP Dillon Overton claimed off waivers by San Diego

Overton was designated for assignment on June 18

Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today that left-handed pitcher Dillon Overton has been claimed off waivers by San Diego.

Overton, 25, has posted a 6.38 ERA (13 ER, 18.1 IP) with 8 strikeouts and 2 walks in 9 games (1 start) over 2 stints with Seattle this season. With AAA Rainiers, he is 1-2 with a 9.33 ERA (28 ER, 27.0 IP) with 22 strikeouts and 12 walks in 7 games (6 starts) with the Rainiers. The 6-foot-2, 172-pound left-hander was named to the Mariners Opening Day roster on April 2.
