The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster move relative to the 2017 Major League roster:
Recalled LHP RYAN MERRITT from Triple-A Columbus (26th man, doubleheader).
Merritt, 25, has spent most of the season in AAA Columbus, posting a mark of 10-5 with a 3.03 ERA in 19 games/18 starts (116.0IP, 116H, 39ER, 25BB, 85SO, .263 avg). He is currently 5th in the International League in ERA and tied for 6th in wins and over his last 7 starts since June 24 he is 4-0 with a 1.45 ERA (43.1IP, 34H, 7ER, 3BB, 29SO). Today marks his fourth stint with Cleveland this year, his third as the "26th man" (June 17, July 1, July 17-21). He has posted an ERA of 3.60 in 2 games/1 start for Cleveland this year (5.0IP, 8H, 3R/2ER), starting the day game of a split doubleheader at Minnesota, on Saturday, June 17.
