CLEVELAND -- It's like a broken record. Another American League All-Star ballot update has been released, and once again, no members of the Indians made the cut despite being in first place in the division.
The most surprising no-show is shortstop Francisco Lindor, who is not one of the top five vote-getters at his position for the fourth consecutive week. The sensational sophomore ranks towards the top in nearly every statistical category among AL shortstops, but is short of the votes needed to earn his first All-Star nod.
For the third consecutive week, the top five shortstops, in terms of votes received, are Boston's Xander Bogaerts (2.11 million votes), Kansas City's Alcides Escobar (1.15 million), Toronto's Troy Tulowitzki (815,000), Texas' Elvis Andrus (642,000) and Houston's Carlos Correa (553,000). The only change was Andrus and Correa flipping spots in the top five from last week.

Lindor's numbers this season have been on par, or better, than the majority of the top five vote-getters. Entering Tuesday, Lindor has posted better numbers than four of the top five in batting average (.314), SLG (.466) and OBP (.375). In the series opener against the Rays at Progressive Field, Lindor lifted the Tribe to its fourth straight win. He went 3-for-4 with two runs scored in Monday's 7-4 win. He finished a triple shy of the cycle, and hit the go-ahead solo homer in the eighth frame to put the Indians up for good.
