Logan Morrison's Cast For Sale On Ebay

Logan Morrison is an interesting guy. He is arguably MLB's most active Twitter-er , and he has proven time and time again to be a funny, witty guy.

That's why what Morrison is up to now doesn't surprise me in the least. He recently had the cast removed from his injured leg, had 24 of his teammates sign it, and has now put it for auction on eBay .

Here's the description from the item listing:

"Cast was worn by Logan Morrison, starting left fielder for the Florida Marlins, after injuring his foot last week. Item was signed by 24 members of the 2011 Florida Marlins Roster (not including Hanley Ramirez #2) and was "MLB Authenticated" at the time of signing."

Whatever it sells for will be donated to the American Lung Association to honor his father Tom, who passed away from lung cancer this past December . And, in this day and age, I'm expecting it to sell for a lot more than it probably should. According to a tweet from Logan this afternoon, the bidding is already up to an impressive $510.00.

That is not to disparage Logan or anyone bidding on the cast. I'm speaking as someone who once wore a cast, and hence knows what kind of condition those things end up in after a couple of weeks on a human body.

See, you can't wash that part of your body when there is a cast on it, so the cast can begin to…smell. Now, again, I'm not saying Logan Morrison smells, I'm saying the cast itself probably does.

I will say this. If Josh Johnson's autograph is on that cast, I'll probably bid on it. The guy is about to win a Cy Young. And since it is going for such a good cause, you should, too.
