Lopez, Pujols, Wainwright and Winn to provide St. Louis area children with an unforgettable day at the ballpark

St. Louis, Mo., Wednesday, August 4, 2010 - Prior to this evening's game at Busch Stadium, Cardinals players Felipe Lopez, Albert Pujols, Adam Wainwright and Randy Winn will provide everlasting memories to a group of 50 children from the Pujols Family Foundation as the Major League Baseball Players Trust's "Buses for Baseball" program motors into St. Louis.

Founded in 2005 by Albert and Deirdre Pujols, the Pujols Family Foundation promotes awareness, meets tangible needs and provides hope and extraordinary experiences for families and children with Down syndrome, disabilities and life threatening illnesses. The foundation also works to improve the standard of living and quality of life for impoverished children in the Dominican Republic through education, medical relief and tangible goods.

Courtesy of the players' charitable foundation, the children will receive round-trip transportation to the game, meet the players, and receive free tickets, food, beverages and souvenirs.

This season, "Buses for Baseball" will provide transportation and personal greetings for more than 1,500 underprivileged children attending Major League Baseball games as invited guests of their big league heroes. "Buses for Baseball" will provide many of the children with their first chance to attend a Major League Baseball game.

The Players Trust enjoys support from the St. Louis Cardinals organization in providing this unique, up close and personal opportunity to share the thrill of Major League Baseball with those less fortunate.
