Lorenzo Cain will drop appeal of suspension; begin serving today

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (May 3, 2015) - Kansas City Royals outfielder Lorenzo Cain announced today that he is dropping the appeal of his two-game suspension handed down by Major League Baseball on April 25 and will begin serving it with today's 1:10 p.m. contest against the Detroit Tigers. Cain was one of four Royals players to receive a suspension after an on-field incident at Chicago's U.S. Cellular Field April 23.

Cain will be eligible to return to action on Wednesday, May 6, when the Royals play the Cleveland Indians at 7:10 p.m. at Kauffman Stadium.
