Dodgers log second 4-K inning in two nights
Reliever Santos allows three runs in eighth
LOS ANGELES -- Saturday, for the second time in two nights, a Dodgers reliever struck out four Rockies in the eighth inning. This time, it was Sergio Santos, but he also allowed three runs in the inning for a 6-0 deficit in the Dodgers' eventual 7-1 loss.
On Friday, Kenley Jansen struck out four in a scoreless eighth. Four strikeouts by a pitcher in an inning has only happened seven times in Dodgers history.
"His [Jansen's] was better, because it happened without any runs coming across," Santos said. "It's the second time for me this year -- I had four strikeouts in Spring Training in an inning against the Cubs."

Santos struck out DJ LeMahieu to open the eighth, but he reached on a wild pitch. After another wild pitch, Carlos Gonzalez singled, and LaMahieu scored when the ball got by left fielder Alex Guerrero for an error. Nolan Arenado homered on what Santos said was "a hanging slider," then Santos struck out Drew Stubbs, Wilin Rosario and Michael McKenry in order.
"That was a little different," manager Don Mattingly said of it happening two nights in a row.
