CINCINNATI -- Slick-fielding infielder Luis Guillorme will lead a quartet of Mets prospects into the Arizona Fall League, according to initial rosters released Tuesday.
Guillorme, the Mets' No. 13 prospect, according to MLBPipeline.com, and arguably the best defender in their farm system, will join catcher Tomas Nido (No. 11 prospect), third baseman David Thompson (No. 26) and outfielder Kevin Kaczmarski (unranked) on the Scottsdale Scorpions. All of them currently play for Double-A Binghamton.

The AFL is a "finishing school" for prospects close to reaching the Majors, with roster spots typically reserved for those on MLB's doorstep. The league has a total of six teams, with five organizations represented on each. Every MLB club is required to send at least six players from its organization to the AFL, which begins Oct. 10. The Mets will announce their other participants at a later date.
Guillorme, 22, is hitting .279 for Binghamton, with one home run and 18 doubles in 122 games. He profiles as a big league utility man thanks to his glove, with a chance to be more if he can improve his offensive resume.
Nido, 23, played alongside Amed Rosario at this year's SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game in Miami. Struggling at the plate this summer after a breakout campaign last year, Nido is batting .237 with a .658 OPS at Binghamton.
Thompson, 24, was the Mets' fourth-round Draft pick in 2015. For Binghamton, he is batting .260 with 16 home runs.
Kaczmarski, 25, is a career .295 hitter over three Minor League seasons. He is hitting .273 at Binghamton, with four home runs, five triples and 18 doubles in 124 games.
