Rangers send Jackson to Dallas for back exam

February 27th, 2016

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- The Rangers are sending reliever Luke Jackson back to Dallas to be examined by Dr. Drew Dosset. The examination will take place on Tuesday.
Dosset is a back specialist, and Jackson has been sidelined with a sore lower back. Jackson has gone through a series of tests and the results have been sent back to Dosset.
"Right now, we are characterizing it as lower back stiffness," said Rangers assistant general manager Thad Levine. "We want to make sure it's not anything more significant before he pitches again."
Jackson is the second reliever to go down in Spring Training. Tanner Scheppers underwent left knee surgery on Wednesday to repair torn cartilage and will be out until after the All-Star break.
