Britton, Matusz exchange arbitration figures with club as deadline passes

BALTIMORE -- The Orioles avoided arbitration with Manny Machado, Chris Tillman, Ryan Flaherty and Miguel Gonzalez by agreeing to 2016 contracts on Friday, an industry source confirmed.
Flaherty will make $1.5 million after making $1.075 million last year. Tillman will get a raise from $4.315 million to $6.225 million, according to MLB Network's Jon Heyman, which also includes awards and incentives.

Gonzalez will make $5.1 million in 2016, up from $3.275 million last season. 
Machado will make the biggest jump, up to $5 million plus incentives following a career-best season in 2015. Machado made $548,000 last year.
The O's have yet to agree to terms with Zach Britton and Brian Matusz. Britton asked for $7.9 million, while the club countered with $5.6 million. Baltimore offered Matusz $3.5 million, while the lefty asked for $4.4 million.
