Minor League Pitcher Malcom Culver replaces J.C. Sulbaran on Arizona Fall League roster

KANSAS CITY, MO (October 23, 2012) — The Kansas City Royals announced today that minor league right-handed pitcher Malcom Culver has replaced right-handed pitcher J.C. Sulbaran on the roster of the Surprise Saguaros in the Arizona Fall League.  Sulbaran was removed from the roster for precautionary reasons due to right arm soreness.

Culver, 22, was the Royals’ eighth-round selection in the 2008 Draft from Palmdale (Calif.) High School.  The 6-foot-1 hurler, who was drafted as a pitcher but played infield until the 2011 season, went 2-1 with a 3.69 ERA in 37 relief appearances for Kane County (A) in 2012.
