Super Mannahan!

As if he knew they needed him. As if he was sitting in his Fortress of Solitude with his wife and new born son and heard thousands of Cleveland fans crying out to him. As if he ran to a near by phone booth in his street clothes and emerged only seconds later in a Tribe Red cape (of kilt for that matter) with with S.H. brilliantly displayed on it….SUPER MANNAHAN HAS RETURNED!

We all root for Jack Hannahan here at the MLB Fan Cave…and I'm guessing we are not alone. He is the type of guy you want to say is a friend of yours. His teammates showed him how much he means to them by chartering a flight for him back home to be with his wife during child birth.

As of late, Jack has been on a tear at the plate and, as always, in the field. Is it being a new father that has him in the zone? Or was he just allowing it to get interesting and then returned to save the day? Your guess is as good as mine. On Tuesday he decided to show the baseball world that Cleveland is in good hands with #9 back on the field, hitting two homers in a 3-for-7 night.

Not since the Scots spoke of William Wallace has a legend been so grand as that of Jack Hannahan. Sure like all great Irish tales we embellish a bit like "Jack Hannahan takes BP from a Howitzer." or "Every ball Hannahan hits at Progressive Field lands in the seats…at Chavez Ravine in Los Angeles.", but there is no embellishing on the type of guy he is. He is a teammate first and foremost. He puts the club before himself and the only stat that matters is the "W" for the Indians.

Atta boy, Jack! Keep doing what you do best. May the road rise to meet your feet and may the wind forever be at your back. And keep doing what you do best! Slainte'!
