MIAMI -- The Marlins' lineup had a little less thump in it for Saturday's contest with the Cubs. Marcell Ozuna, who did not start Saturday and may not Sunday, is dealing with a sore left wrist that has been nagging him for about a week.
"We're gonna be careful here and hopefully give him a day and get him back in there [Sunday]," Marlins manager Don Mattingly said. "If not, we'll give him [Sunday], too, and then the off-day. We'll just see where we're at with that."
Ozuna's wrist was taped up, and he did not take pregame batting practice on Saturday. Last Aug. 8, he sprained the same wrist sliding into a base in a game while playing for Triple-A New Orleans. Mattingly said the recent soreness was from swinging.
"[Ozuna] said every once in a while, it gets a little sore on him, so it's one of those things that we're not really willing to push at this point," Mattingly said.
Ozuna has been durable all season, as he's played in more games (73) than any other Marlins player. He's started all but four of them.
Miami's offense has been carried by Ozuna at times. The 25-year-old leads Marlins regulars in average (.320), home runs (16), RBIs (44) and runs scored (47). He's hitting .421 (8-for-19) with four homers and six RBIs over his last six games.

In Ozuna's absence, Ichiro Suzuki got the nod in center field and batted first on Saturday. The 42-year-old has done a nice job in spot starts filling in for Miami's everyday outfielders, as he's hitting .348 in 138 at-bats this year.
"Having Ich in there is a nice little security for us," Mattingly said.
