January 12th, 2016

TORONTO -- Marcus Stroman, Aaron Sanchez, Kevin Pillar, Marco Estrada, Chris Colabello and Brett Cecil will be among the Blue Jays players who are scheduled to participate in the upcoming Winter Tour.
The annual event will make stops in Fredericton, Ottawa and Toronto starting on Sunday. The cross-country trip is based on the caravan tour the Blue Jays did in the early 1980s. It was brought back in 2011 by former president Paul Beeston and current vice president of business operations Stephen Brooks.
The tour will begin in Fredericton on Sunday with Colabello, Cecil and outfielder Dalton Pompey. They are scheduled to visit New Maryland Elementary School before heading to the 5th Canadian Division Support Base Gagetown. There also will be an autograph session open to the public at Regent Mall from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. AT.
Stroman, Sanchez, Pillar, Pompey and Goins will then join the tour on Jan. 19 in Toronto. There will be an autograph session at Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket, a visit to Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital and a stop at Marvin Heights Public School.
The Ottawa portion of the trip will see Estrada, Pillar, Goins and Justin Smoak participate. The Blue Jays will visit the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario and the Boys & Girls Club of Ottawa. They will also hold an autograph session at St. Laurent Centre and take in a National Hockey League game between the Senators and Islanders.
