SEATTLE -- The Mariners were almost out of chances. Two on, two out, down two runs, and Adam Lind's long fly ball was headed toward the deepest part of the fence.
And it just made it over.
"The right guy up there in the right spot got a good pitch, and he didn't miss it," manager Scott Servais said.
Lind's three-run, walk-off home run capped a four-run ninth inning rally that propelled the Mariners to a 4-3 victory over the White Sox on Monday. For Lind, it was his second walk-off home run of the season.
Lind paused before the plate to shoot his helmet like a basketball over his teammates. It was the exact same celebration he used for his three-run walk-off last month against the Cardinals.
"I received a lot of flack from the first one," Lind said. "So I made sure I squared my shoulders up and had a nice follow through."
Swish.
Lind went into Monday's game hitting .182 in July and wasn't in the starting lineup on Monday. Servais sat down with him before the game.
"Just want to make sure where he's at mentally," Servais said. "It's not easy. He's a player that's had a lot of success in this league for a long time and the struggles, they bother him as much as anybody."
With two outs and runners on first and second, Lind entered the game to bat for Chris Iannetta.
Kyle Seager had just singled to drive in Robinson Canó and move Nelson Cruz to second. Lind stepped up to the plate, representing the winning run.

Lind swung and missed the first pitch, a slow knuckle curve. But he got ahold of the second, a 92 mile-per-hour cutter.
"You're hoping that Adam can come through and get something that he can drive," Servais said. "And he did. Pulled his hand through on a cutter and got it in a good spot."
