Mariners, Major League Baseball, Target and PEOPLE Magazine are looking for All-Star Teachers

30 winning teachers will be recognized at the pre-game ceremony of the 2014 MLB All-Star Game on July 15 on FOX with winner featured in 'PEOPLE'

The Seattle Mariners, Major League Baseball, Target and PEOPLE Magazine are joining to honor teachers who have made an impact in the lives of their students and communities.

Fans are asked to nominate remarkable current or retired teachers for the "Target Presents PEOPLE All-Star Teachers campaign." Nominations will be accepted through May 6 at AllStarTeachers.com. Nominees from the Pacific Northwest will have the chance to represent the Mariners during the pre-game ceremony of the 2014 MLB All-Star Game on July 15 at Target Field in Minneapolis.

MLB, Target and PEOPLE will review nominations and select three teachers per MLB team, with the 90 finalists to be announced on June 5. From June 5 through June 29, fans will be encouraged to visit AllStarTeachers.com to read the stories of the nominees and vote for their favorite teachers.

All 30 winners, one representing each MLB Club, will be announced during All-Star Week. Winners will be included in All-Star Week activities and recognized during the pre-game ceremony of the 2014 MLB All-Star Game on FOX. One winner will be featured in PEOPLE during the week of the MLB All-Star Game. Target presents "PEOPLE All-Star Teachers" is just one part of Target and MLB's effort to celebrate teachers and raise awareness about the importance of education this baseball season.
