TORONTO -- The Mariners' revolving bullpen door took another spin on Sunday, as the club recalled right-hander Dan Altavilla from Triple-A Tacoma and placed injured starter Ryan Weber on the 10-day disabled list with a strained right biceps muscle.
Weber hurt his right arm in the fourth inning of his first outing for Seattle on Saturday. He became the fifth starter to go on the disabled list, joining Felix Hernandez, James Paxton, Hisashi Iwakuma and Drew Smyly.
Altavilla takes Weber's roster spot, adding more depth to a bullpen that is trying to make up for the sudden shortage of experienced starters. The 24-year-old was optioned to Tacoma on Thursday and normally would have been required to spend 10 days in the Minors before being eligible to return. But he was able to be added sooner to replace an injured player going on the DL.
Altavilla is 1-1 with a 6.97 ERA over 10 1/3 innings in 12 outings this season for Seattle and has a 3.18 ERA in 5 2/3 innings in four appearances for Tacoma.
He pitched in back-to-back games in Philadelphia on Tuesday and Wednesday -- throwing a perfect frame in the first outing, before allowing three hits, a walk and a run in the second before being sent back to Tacoma the following day. He had yet to pitch for the Rainiers in his latest stint with the club.

Weber, claimed off waivers from the Braves in November, allowed one run on three hits over 3 2/3 innings before his shoulder gave out in his first big league outing since last season with Atlanta. He was 2-0 with a 0.85 ERA in five starts for Tacoma before getting the callup.
