SEATTLE -- A total of 21,771 people, the second-highest attendance figure in Mariners FanFest history, turned out at Safeco Field over the weekend to enjoy an early preview of the 2016 season.
The two-day attendance figure was shy of last year's record 25,209, but still stands as second-best in the event's 18-year history. FanFest drew 21,019 in 2014 and 17,952 in '13 after totaling 9,774 in '12.

This year's fans were treated to reliever donning a wig and doing some '90s karaoke during his dugout dialogue Q&A session, as well as young starter doing a version of "The Carlton" dance at the urging of a fan.

Fans also had a chance to hear new general manager Jerry Dipoto and manager Scott Servais give their thoughts on the upcoming season, ask questions and gather autographs from Walker, Furbush, and newcomers , and as well as young prospects , Drew Jackson, Tyler O'Neill and Braden Bishop.
Sunday's gathering also included appearances from longtime fan favorites Jay Buhner, Dave Valle and Julio Cruz. And for those who wanted to create their own action, there was the chance to run the bases, play catch in the outfield, tour the clubhouse or ride a zip line over the Safeco grass.
The event also means Spring Training is just around the corner. Pitchers and catchers will report in Peoria, Ariz., on Feb. 19, and the full squad will take the field for the first time on Feb. 25 to begin preparation for the April 4 season opener in Texas.
