Valencia scratched, day to day with sore wrist

SEATTLE -- Mariners first baseman Danny Valencia was scratched from the lineup before Saturday night's 5-2 loss to the Astros with a sore right wrist.
took his spot at first base and was inserted in the Mariners' lineup in the No. 8 spot, moving up to No. 7.
"He felt it [Friday] night in his last at-bat, he fouled a ball off," Mariners manager Scott Servais said, adding that Haniger was day to day. 
Valencia was sidelined for three games after hurting his wrist sliding into third base in a May 19 tilt against the White Sox, but it wasn't significant enough to send him to the disabled list. The right-hander is hitting .273/.333/.414 this season with 10 doubles, seven home runs and 39 RBIs in 69 games.
