SEATTLE-- Seth Smith homered for the third consecutive game and Mike Zunino went deep twice in his season debut as Seattle hit a season-high-tying five homers to trounce Baltimore, 12-6, on Saturday night.
Nelson Cruz also homered off Orioles starter Tyler Wilson to help give the Mariners (42-39) their sixth win in eight games and hand Baltimore (47-33) its third consecutive defeat. Smith went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored while Cruz drove in three on his first-inning homer.
Adam Lind added an insurance run with a solo homer off Orioles reliever Vance Worley in the top of the sixth. Zunino, the next batter, went deep again off O's righty Mychal Givens. Seattle continued to swing the bat well at Safeco Field, having hit 65 homers at home this season.

"The guys brought the sticks today, didn't they?" said Mariners starter James Paxton, who went 5 2/3 innings and allowed four runs (three earned) on nine hits in the win.
Wilson went a season-low three-plus innings and allowed a season-high eight runs, dropping to 4-6 with a 5.22 ERA in the loss.
"He's just not quite as crisp as he was," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said of Wilson. "He's in the 80-plus inning mark, and he's just not carrying the same crispness that he had earlier in the season. It happens with a lot of pitchers that are pitching every fifth day up here."
Orioles first baseman Chris Davis homered for the second consecutive night, going deep off of Nathan Karns for a two-run shot in the seventh.

Zunino blasts back: Zunino homered in his first at-bat with Seattle after being recalled from Triple-A Tacoma Thursday when Steve Clevenger went on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured right hand. Zunino went deep again in the sixth, finishing with three RBIs and two runs scored. More >

Wilson's short start: A Baltimore rotation that has been unable to find consistency all season took another hit on Saturday. Wilson allowed three runs in the first inning and couldn't record an out in the fourth, turning in his worst start of the season. He gave up three homers, another season-high, and set the tone in an ugly Orioles' pitching night. More >
"It's a frustrating thing," Wilson said. "Executed some good pitches and they got hits, and made some really poor pitches and they made me pay for it. I just need to do a better job of managing situations. That's my M.O., game management. I did not do a very good job of that tonight, and on top of that, I didn't keep the ball in the ballpark. With how great of a defensive team we are, we can't defend homers."
Third time's the charm: Smith hit his third home run of the series, sending one over the fence in each of the first three games. Statcast™ projected the high-flying homer at 430 feet away with a 107 mph exit velocity. This is the first time in Smith's career that he has homered in three consecutive games.
"I think on the last road trip he got a little quick, a little anxious in the box," Mariners manger Scott Servais said. "He came out the first day and worked on it. Just slowed his feet down, got his timing right, and he's seeing the ball good again."

Offense goes to waste: The O's pounded out 11 hits, including Davis' homers, but it wasn't enough given their early hole. Nolan Reimold also went 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Davis' homer marked his 182nd home run with Baltimore, which tied Ken Singleton for eighth on the team's all-time list.
UPON FURTHER REVIEW
The Mariners won a challenge on a tag play at second base in the second inning. Shawn O'Malley was called out while attempting to steal for what would have been the second out of the inning. After the review, the call was overturned. But the Mariners were unable to score O'Malley. With two consecutive groundouts, they stranded him on base.

WHAT'S NEXT
Orioles:Ubaldo Jimenez will start on Sunday, earning a spot back in the rotation after picking up consecutive wins against the Padres. It was the righty's first time getting back-to-back wins all season. First pitch is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. ET.
Mariners:Hisashi Iwakuma threw a no-hitter in his last outing against Baltimore on Aug. 12, 2015 in a 3-0 win. Iwakuma will aim for another gem to finish a four-game sweep of the Orioles on Sunday at 1:10 p.m. PT.
