Mariners option outfielder Guillermo Heredia to AAA Tacoma

Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced that the club optioned outfielder Guillermo Heredia to AAA Tacoma following last night's game.

Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced that the club optioned outfielder Guillermo Heredia to AAA Tacoma following last night's game.
A corresponding roster move will be announced prior to tonight's (7:10 p.m. PT) game vs. the Detroit Tigers.
Heredia, 25, hit .250 (7x25) with 1 home run and 3 RBI in 12 games with the Mariners. He made his MLB debut on July 29 at the Cubs. Heredia collected his first hit (and RBI) on Aug. 2 vs. Boston. In his last 8 games (Aug. 2-9), Heredia hit .350 (7x20) with 1 home run, 3 RBI, 4 walks and just 2 strikeouts. Seattle is 7-1 in his last 8 games. Heredia had a career-high 3 hits (3-for-7) in last night's 15 inning win versus Detroit.
Prior to being selected from AAA Tacoma on July 29, Heredia hit .340 (36x106) with 21 runs, 5 doubles, 1 triple, 2 home runs, 13 RBI, 7 walks, 1 stolen base and a .385 on-base percentage in 26 games with the Rainiers. He began the season at AA Jackson, where he hit .293 (60x205) with 39 runs, 7 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs, 34 RBI, 36 walks, 2 stolen bases and a .405 on-base percentage in 58 games with AA Jackson before being promoted to AAA on June 23.
Heredia was signed to a Major League contract by Seattle on March 1, 2016 as an international free agent. He played in Cuba from 2009-2014.
