Mariners outright switch-pitcher Venditte

SEATTLE -- The Mariners outrighted the contract of to Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday as the switch-pitcher will remain in the organization after clearing waivers.
Venditte was designated for assignment last Wednesday to open a spot on their 40-man roster, which remains full at 40.

Venditte is the first full-time ambidextrous pitcher in the modern era. He posted a 5.73 ERA in 22 innings over 15 outings with the Blue Jays and Mariners last season, including a 6.08 ERA in 13 1/3 innings over seven appearances for Seattle after being acquired by trade on Aug. 6.
Venditte also went 1-0 with a 1.08 ERA in five relief appearances for Tacoma.
The Nebraska native previously pitched for the A's in 2015 and has a career ERA of 4.97 in 50 2/3 innings over 41 outings.
