Mariners promote Mather to president/CEO

The Mariners announced several front office promotions on Thursday.
Kevin Mather was promoted to president and CEO, Trevor Gooby was promoted to senior vice president of ballpark operations, Kevin Martinez was promoted to senior vice president of marketing and communications, Frances Traisman was promoted to senior vice president of sales, and Randy Adamack was promoted to senior vice president and special advisor to the chairman and CEO.
Mather has worked in baseball operations for 28 years, beginning with the Twins from 1989-96 and with the Mariners since 1996. He began as Seattle's vice president of finance and administration, and was promoted to executive vice president of ballpark operations following the 1999 season. In February 2014, he was named president and chief operating officer.
Over his nearly three decades in baseball operations, Mather has served on several MLB committees, including Commissioner Rob Manfred's Long-Term Strategic Planning Committee, the Finance and Compensation Committee, the Investment Committee, the Internal Audit Committee and the Revenue Sharing Committee.
