Mariners Recall RHP Danny Farquhar from AAA Tacoma
OF Rickie Weeks Designated for Assignment
HOUSTON, Texas -- Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager Jack Zduriencik announced today that right-hander Danny Farquhar has been recalled from AAA Tacoma. To make room on the Major League, 25-man roster, outfielder Rickie Weeks has been designate for assignment. The Mariners now have 10 days to trade, release or outright the contract of Weeks to the minor leagues.

Farquhar is expected to be in uniform (#40) and available for today's game at the Astros.
Farquhar, 28, began the season with Seattle, posting a 0-3, 6.46 mark in 20 relief appearances prior to be optioned to AAA Tacoma post-game on May 25. With the Rainiers, Farquhar was 1-0, 6.75 (9.1 IP, 7 ER) in 5 games, 1 start.
Weeks, 32, appeared in 37 games with Seattle, hitting .167 (14x84) with 2 doubles, 1 home run and 9 RBI.
