Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today the following roster moves:
The Mariners Major League, 40-man, roster remains full.
 
The Mariners now have 7 days to trade, release or outright the contract of Peterson to the minor leagues.
 
Martin, 29, was hitting .312 (108x346) with 62 runs, 24 doubles, 5 triples, 11 home runs, 39 RBI, 24 stolen bases, a .352 on-base percentage and a .506 slugging mark in 84 games with AAA Tacoma. In his last 40 games, he's hitting .343 (58x169) with 32 runs, 23 extra-base hits and 26 RBI. He joined the Rainiers after being outrighted on April 27 (designated for assignment on April 23). He opened the season with Seattle, hitting 111 (6x54) with 5 runs, 1 double, 4 steals, a .172 on-base percentage and a .130 slugging percentage in 15 games.
 
In 2016 with Seattle, he hit .247 (128x518) with 17 doubles, 3 triples, 15 home runs and 24 steals in 143 games. He ranked second among American League center fielders with 11 outfield assists. Martin was originally acquired by the Mariners along with RHP Anthony Bass from Texas in exchange for RHP Tom Wilhelmsen, OF James Jones and a player to be named later (Partrick Kivlehan, Dec. 2, 2015) on Nov. 16, 2015. The native of Villa Clara, Cuba, has appeared in parts of 7 Major League seasons with the Rangers (2011-15) and Mariners (2016-17), posting a career batting average of .248 (473x1904) with 245 runs, 70 doubles, 18 triples, 35 home runs, 167 RBI and 112 steals in 587 career games.
 
Ramirez, 27, who was acquired from Tampa Bay on July 28, was 4-3 with 1 save, 6 holds and a 4.80 ERA (37 ER, 69.1 IP) with 55 strikeouts in 26 games (8 starts). As a reliever, he posted a 3.23 ERA (11 ER, 30.2 IP) with 23 strikeouts in 18 outings, limiting opponents to a .189 (20x106) average. He is under team control through the 2019 season.
 
In six Major League seasons with Seattle (2012-14) and Tampa Bay (2015-17), he is 29-32 with 3 saves and a 4.23 ERA (249 ER, 530.0 IP) with 409 strikeouts in 171 games, including 71 starts. In his minor league career, he was 50-26 with a 3.26 ERA (246 ER, 678.2 IP) with 546 strikeouts in 119 games, including 112 starts. Ramirez was traded by Seattle to Tampa Bay on March 31, 2015 in exchange for left-handed pitcher Mike Montgomery. The native of Rivas, Nicaragua was originally signed by Seattle in 2007 and made his Major League debut in 2012, posting a 3.36 ERA (22 ER, 59.0 IP) in 16 games, including 8 starts that season.
 
Haniger, 26, left yesterday's game after being struck in the face by a pitch in the 2nd inning. He is batting .255 (54x212) with 36 runs, 13 doubles, 1 triple, 7 home runs and 24 RBI in 57 games with the Mariners this season. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound outfielder was placed on the 10-day disabled list earlier this season on April 26 with a strained right oblique. He missed 42 games before being activated from the DL on June 11. Since being activated, Haniger is batting .203 (27x133) with 16 runs, 6 doubles, 3 home runs and 8 RBI in 37 games.
 
Haniger was acquired the Mariners along with INF Jean Segura and LHP Zac Curtis from the Diamondbacks on Nov. 23, 2016 in exchange for RHP Taijuan Walker and INF Ketel Marte. He made his Major League debut with Arizona last season on Aug. 16 vs. New York-NL. He went on to hit .229 (25x109) with 9 runs, 2 doubles, 1 triple, 5 home runs and 17 RBI in 34 games with the Diamondbacks last season. The native of Mountain View, Calif., was originally selected by New York-NL in the 31st round of the 2009 MLB First-Year Player Draft but did not sign. He was selected in the 1st round (38th overall) of the 2012 Draft by Milwaukee.
 
Martin, 27, was selected from AAA Tacoma on July 28 but did not appear in a Major League game with Seattle. He earned 1 save with a 3.81 ERA (12 ER, 28.1 IP) with 37 strikeouts and 8 walks in 12 games (3 starts) with AAA Tacoma this season. Over his last 6 appearances (2 starts) with the Rainiers dating back to June 28, he has given up only 3 runs in 14.0 innings (1.93 ERA) while striking out 25 and walking 2. 
 
Martin made 9 appearances, including 2 starts, with the Mariners last season, going 1-2 with a 3.86 ERA (11 ER, 25.2 IP) with 15 strikeouts and 9 walks. He was claimed off waivers by Seattle from Oakland on Oct. 29, 2015. In parts of 2 Major League seasons with the Braves (2015), Athletics (2015) and Mariners (2016-c), he is 3-7 with a 6.07 ERA (38 ER, 56.1 IP) with 42 strikeouts and 21 walks in 34 games (4 starts). The native of Dos Palos, CA, was selected by Atlanta in the 7th round of the 2011 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Gonzaga University. 
 
Peterson, 25, hit .264 (101x382) with 47 runs, 17 doubles, 2 triples, 12 home runs and 54 RBI in 103 games with AAA Tacoma this season. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound infielder recorded 32 walks and 75 strikeouts while posting a .323 on-base percentage with the Rainiers this season. He appeared defensively at 1st base (51 games, 50 starts), 3rd base (43 G, 41 GS) and left field (1 start) while also making 10 appearances at DH with Tacoma. Over his last 19 games (7/8-28), Peterson hit .250 (17x68) with 7 runs, 4 doubles, 2 home runs and 5 RBI.
 
The native of Chandler, AZ, was originally selected by Seattle with the 12th overall pick in the 2013 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of the University of New Mexico. He made 119 total appearances between AA Jackson and AAA Tacoma last season, combining to hit .264 (120x455) with 57 runs, 28 doubles, 1 triple, 19 home runs and 78 RBI. In parts of 5 minor league seasons in the Mariners organization, Peterson hit .269 (513x1908) with 262 runs, 107 doubles, 7 triples, 82 home runs and 334 RBI in 496 career games.
