The Miami Marlins today announced that they have acquired right-handed pitcher Dan Straily from the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for RHP Luis Castillo, RHP Austin Brice and OF Isaiah White. The announcement was made by Marlins President of Baseball Operations Michael Hill.
 
Straily, 28, was 14-8, 3.76 in 34 games, 31 starts, for the Reds last season. He held opposing batters to a .220 average, seventh-best in the NL, and tossed 191.1 innings, 12th-most in the league. Straily went 10-2, 3.10 following the All-Star break; his 10 wins were tied with Jon Lester and Max Scherzer for most in the NL in the second half, while his ERA ranked fifth (min. 14 starts). Following the season, he was voted as the Reds' Most Outstanding Pitcher by the Cincinnati chapter of the BBWAA.
 
Originally drafted by the Oakland A's in the 24th round of the 2009 MLB Draft out of Marshall University, Straily is a native of Redlands, Cal. He owns a career record of 27-21, 4.24 in 86 games, 76 starts, since making his debut with Oakland in 2012. He has pitched in the Majors with Oakland (2012-14), Chicago-NL (2014), Houston (2015) and Cincinnati (2016).
