ATLANTA -- It's late in the season, and Marlins outfielder Ichiro Suzuki is showing no signs of slowing down.
The 42-year-old collected three hits in Monday night's 12-7 loss to the Braves at Turner Field, and in the process, passed Hall of Famer Lou Brock on Major League Baseball's all-time hits list.
In the first inning, Ichiro laced a double off right-hander Mike Foltynewicz, which at the time pulled him even with Brock at 3,023.
Just warming up, Ichiro's two-out fourth-inning RBI single off Foltynewicz moved him ahead of Brock and into sole possession of 25th place, according to Elias. He added a single in the sixth. Next on the list is Rod Carew at 3,053.
Now with 3,025 hits, Ichiro continues to stay hot during a season in which he has already achieved so much. He recorded his 899th multi-hit game on Monday.
Ichiro was instrumental in Miami's seven-run comeback on Monday. He picked up one of six hits by the Marlins in the five-run fourth inning.
"The guys just kept getting their hits," Marlins manager Don Mattingly said. "We'd have first-and-third, first-and-third, go the other way a little bit."

For the season, Ichiro is batting .301 with a .367 on-base percentage. Over his last 13 games, he has heated up, with a slash line of .333/.360/.500 with three doubles, one triple, one home run and six RBIs.
The Marlins eventually pulled even at 7 in the sixth, and Ichiro again knocked a ht.
"Then we kind of did it again, to get the other two," Mattingly said.
On a night Ichiro passed Brock, the Marlins weren't able to pull off what would have been their biggest comeback of the season. They also remained five games back in the National League Wild Card standings.
"We still left a number of guys, but you're only going to be able to get so many runs in," Mattingly said. "You're not going to be able to continue to get hits all the time with those guys in the spots. It would have been nice to overtake and get a lead there."
