Baker injures oblique in loss to Boston

BOSTON -- The Marlins removed utility man Jeff Baker in the second inning of Tuesday night's 4-3 loss to the Red Sox at Fenway Park with left oblique pain.

"We'll know more tomorrow," Marlins manager Dan Jennings said. "It's an oblique. We just don't know the severity of it yet."

Baker started the game at first base with Michael Morse in left field and Justin Bour serving as the designated hitter. Baker committed an error in the first inning by misplaying a Brock Holt grounder and then struck out looking in his only at-bat.

Ichiro Suzuki replaced Baker in the lineup and entered the game in left, with Morse shifting over to first base.
