MIAMI -- Marlins manager Don Mattingly has repeatedly said Marcell Ozuna has been the club's most consistent hitter. Many fans apparently agree as the 26-year-old left fielder is currently seventh in voting for National League All-Star outfielders.
MLB announced its first results for the 2017 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot on Tuesday, and Ozuna has 255,945 votes. Miami's Giancarlo Stanton (232,329) sits eighth, behind Ozuna on the list.

Hours after the ballot results were unveiled, both Ozuna and Stanton helped their cases in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Phillies at Marlins Park. Ozuna hit a solo homer in the second, while Stanton added a two-run shot in the third.
Ozuna was an All-Star starter in 2016, and he is the Marlins' highest vote-getter. Stanton, a three-time All-Star, is the only other Miami position player ranked among the leaders at his respective position.
With the 2017 All-Star Game presented by MasterCard being held at Marlins Park, the organization is hoping to be well-represented.
"I think our outfield has been pretty good," Marlins manager Don Mattingly said. "Ozo has probably been the most consistent guy, as far as average and day to day. G has swung the bat well, a lot better for me from what I've been able to see last year to this year. It's a big difference."
Last year, Ozuna got a taste of being an All-Star at Petco Park in San Diego, being named a starter due to injuries. Stanton, meanwhile, wasn't picked to the All-Star Game in 2016, but he participated and won the T-Mobile Home Run Derby.
The top three outfield vote-getters thus far are Washington's Bryce Harper (900,079), Colorado's Charlie Blackmon (520,479) and Chicago's Jason Heyward (344,166).
The Marlins have other players deserving of All-Star consideration, but they currently aren't listed among the top vote-getters at their position.
J.T. Realmuto statistically is one of the top catchers in the NL. Buster Posey of the Giants has the lead (559,428) over Willson Contreras (355,289) of the Cubs. Justin Bour is showing tremendous power at first base, where Chicago's Anthony Rizzo (452,620) is the top vote-getter.
Realmuto is getting the backing of his teammates.
"J.T., he's definitely one of the best catchers in the league," center fielder Christian Yelich said. "He deserves to go. Hopefully it happens."
Added Stanton: "He's been amazing. It's a tough job back there, especially if things haven't been going too great, also. … We have a month left. Hopefully it takes care of itself."

Following the announcement of the 2017 All-Star starters, reserves and pitchers, fans should return to MLB.com and cast their 2017 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Final Vote for the final player on each league's All-Star roster. Then on Tuesday, July 11, while watching the 2017 All-Star Game presented by MasterCard live on FOX, fans may visit MLB.com to submit their choices for the Ted Williams Most Valuable Player Award presented by Chevrolet with the 2017 MLB All-Star Game MVP Vote.
