Hill has three messages for Marlins fans on Presidents' Day

MIAMI -- Optimism is running high for the Miami Marlins, and for good reason. Under the direction of president of baseball operations Michael Hill, the organization has made a number of significant upgrades that should vault the youthful club into playoff contention.

Hill isn't making any bold guarantees. But in honor of Presidents' Day, he is sending three messages to Miami's fan base:

• "Look for an exciting season. You're going to see manager Mike Redmond and his staff playing an exciting brand of baseball.

• "... Welcome the new additions. The players we were able to bring aboard for 2015 -- Dee Gordon, Mat Latos, Martin Prado, Michael Morse and more -- have us extremely excited for the upcoming season.

• "... [Be excited about] the existing core, led by Giancarlo Stanton. He kicked off the offseason with his historic contract. Plus, just the continued growth and development of Jose Fernandez, Christian Yelich, Marcell Ozuna and Adeiny Hechavarria. How they come together as a team will lead to the success we are going to have in 2015."
