Marlins to host Nationals, Padres and Mets for nine-game homestand

Homestand features Wrestling Night, Salt-N-Pepa concert and Billy's Birthday Party

The Miami Marlins begin their eighth homestand, and first of the second half, tomorrow, Tuesday, July 28, with a three-game series against the NL East-leading Washington Nationals. Miami will then take on the San Diego Padres for three games before wrapping up the homestand with a three-game set against the New York Mets. Miami is 16-8 over its last 24 games at Marlins Park, which is third-best home winning percentage in the National League over that span.

The Marlins invite fans to join them on Friday at Marlins Park for Wrestling Night presented by Modelo Especial, benefitting 2015 Charity Partner Up2Us Sports. Fans who purchase the VIP special event package will receive a game ticket, Marlins Wrestling Championship T-shirt and a meet-and-greet with professional wrestlers, such as Mick Foley and Kevin Nash. In addition, fans will have an opportunity to win an official Marlins Championship Wrestling Belt for being the best dressed fan. A portion of the proceeds will benefit 2015 Marlins Charity Partner Up2Us Sports.

Then on Saturday, the Grammy Award-winning hip-hop duo Salt-N-Pepa will take the West Plaza stage for the final Saturday Spectacular Summer concert, presented by Lexus. In addition, the Marlins will celebrate Colombian Heritage Day presented by Avianca on Saturday. Fans who purchase the VIP special event package will receive a game ticket, Colombian Heritage Day T-shirt and access to the pregame celebration in the West Plaza. A portion of the proceeds benefit The Gametime Foundation. The Marlins will also celebrate Italian Heritage Night on Tuesday, July 29. The special event package includes a game ticket in the Italian Heritage section and a J.T. Realmuto Italian Heritage Jersey T-shirt.

This homestand features one fan giveaway, as all fans on Sunday will receive a Marlins All-Star poster courtesy of Franklin Dodd Communications. Also on Sunday, Marlins Park will host Billy's Superhero Birthday Party and its second Bark at the Park, with 100 percent of the proceeds from the dog tickets benefitting the Humane Society of Broward County. Fans who purchase the special event package for Billy The Marlin's birthday party will receive a game ticket, limited edition Birthday Billy headphones, and an exclusive pregame celebration with Billy and his mascot friends. Fans are encouraged to bring school supplies as a gift for Billy so he can give them to underserved kids in the local community.
