Marlins to host New York Mets, Milwaukee Brewers and Washington Nationals for Nine-Game Homestand

Homestand features Star Wars Night, Patriotic Night and two giveaways

MIAMI -The Marlins begin a nine-game homestand on Friday, taking on the New York Mets in a three-game set. Following the series, Miami will kick off a three-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday, September 7, with a Labor Day matinee. Following an off-day on Thursday, the Marlins conclude the homestand with three games against the Washington Nationals.

The homestand begins on Friday with the next Marlins Friday Theme Night presented by State Farm. Fans are invited to celebrate the sixth annual Star Wars Night benefitting Stand Up To Cancer. Fans can purchase the Star Wars special event package for just $25 to get a Lexus Legends Level game ticket, a R2-Dee2 T-shirt and a meet-and-greet with Star Wars characters during the game. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Stand Up To Cancer. Fans will also have the chance to sign a placard and display it in the fourth inning during a Stand Up To Cancer call to action. Fans can also enjoy a postgame Star Wars-themed fireworks show presented by Ricoh.

The following Friday is Patriotic Night benefitting local first responders, presented by Community Coffee. The special event package includes a game ticket and Marlins Stars and Stripes cap. Patriotic Night falls on September 11, and Marlins Park will host activities in remembrance of Sept. 11, 2001. The City of Miami and Miami Beach fire departments will display trucks in the West Plaza for fans to interact with. Fans will also be able to try on actual fire gear on the Promenade and Lexus Legends levels at Marlins Park. The first 10,000 fans will receive United States of America mini flags. The postgame fireworks show will be presented by Jimmy John's.

In addition, the Marlins will provide fans with two giveaways during this homestand. On Sunday, Sept. 6, the first 10,000 fans will receive a Marcell Ozuna bobblehead courtesy of Pepsi. On the following Sunday, Sept. 13, the first 10,000 fans will receive a Jose Fernandez figurine courtesy of Preferred Care Partners. Additional special events during this homestand include Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Day on September 5, Jewish Heritage Day on September 6 and SAFEE Aviation Day on September 13.
