The Miami Marlins front office will take part in the sixth annual Day of Civic Engagement and Philanthropy on Friday, December 16, marking the second time this year the entire office closes for a full day of philanthropy and service in the South Florida community. The day begins at 9 a.m. on the West Plaza at Marlins Park and concludes at 4 p.m., with $16,000 being gifted in the local community throughout the day in random acts of kindness. The Marlins' commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility will be on display throughout the day's events and activities.
 
Following the opening ceremony, the Marlins' front office will split into their Marlins Ayudan teams and head to The Shops at Midtown Miami to take 16 students for a holiday shopping spree at Target. The students, all from Marlins Ayudan partner schools (Citrus Grove Elementary, Lenora B. Smith Elementary, Kinloch Park Middle and Miami Senior High) were chosen based off their improvement and performance in the Marlins Educational Initiatives, with the assistance of Big Brothers Big Sisters Miami and After-School All-Stars. The Marlins front office utilizes the Marlins Ayudan School Partnership Program (MASPP) to create lasting relationships with students, faculty, and staff at the four partner schools guided by focused involvement.
 
Civic engagement activities for the day will also take place across Miami-Dade County. Marlins Ayudan teams will visit local community All-Stars, such as policemen and women, firefighters, doctors, nurses, military personnel and veterans. The objective is to spread holiday cheer and connect Marlins professionals to the various All-Stars serving in the community.
