Martinez's multi-hit game comes up big Tuesday

SEATTLE -- As bad as things looked for Houston's offense during Tuesday's 4-0 loss in Seattle, things could have been much worse. J.D. Martinez's two hits were all that stood between Mariners starter Aaron Harang (5.60 ERA) and a no-hitter. Harang struck out 10 Astros and walked none.

Martinez's multi-hit game was one of the few bright spots of the first two games of the series against the Mariners, both of which Houston lost thanks in large part to five errors. Still, Martinez wasn't please by his performance.

"We didn't get the win. I mean, I felt like we weren't even in the game at all. [Harang] pitched a great game," Martinez said. "Not thinking about that, I got the hit in the second inning so it's not like it was something I was thinking about going up to the plate. The hits don't really matter if we don't even win."
