Scherzer aims to keep Nats rolling on MLB.TV

April 28th, 2017

After capping a near-perfect road trip in which they posted the highest winning percentage on a 10-plus-game road trip in franchise history, the Nationals will be back home tonight, welcoming the National League East-rival Mets to Nationals Park.
Washington, which owns the best record in the Major Leagues in part because of nine wins in 10 games against the Mets, Braves and Rockies, looks to keep rolling behind right-hander Max Scherzer.
The Nationals ace is well on his way to another fabulous season, going 3-1 with a 1.95 ERA and 33 strikeouts in 27 2/3 innings across four starts. The 32-year-old beat the Mets at Citi Field in his last start, spinning eight frames of three-run ball with nine punchouts.
New York counters with right-hander trying to slow Washington's dangerous offensive attack, which put up an unfathomable 42 runs combined in its last three games.
The 28-year-old deGrom has not yet won in 2017 despite several strong performances thus far. He will attempt to improve on his numbers against the Nationals when he takes the mound, streaming live on MLB.TV.

The Yankees have pulled out victories in three of Sabathia's four starts in the early going, and though the left-hander is not striking out many batters (14 in 23 1/3 innings), he keeps giving his club a chance to win.
Sabathia's 39 lifetime starts against Baltimore are tied for the second-most times he's faced an opposing club and he's gone 19-10 with a 3.30 ERA versus the O's.
Gausman has not had quite the success of his Yankees counterpart, beginning the season 1-2 with a 7.50 ERA. If the young righty has one thing to hang his hat on, it's his numbers against New York. He's 6-3 with a 2.24 ERA against the Yankees in his career.

Anderson aiming to stay perfect: ATL@MIL, 8:10 p.m.
The Brewers' Chase Anderson has carried over a stellar second half of the 2016 season into 2017. The right-hander, who went 5-1 with a 3.02 ERA after the All-Star break last year is 2-0 with a 1.13 ERA so far this season.
Interestingly, despite the 29-year-old's solid start to the year, he has not topped 89 pitches in a game. The righty will look to work deeper into his outing Friday against the Braves and .

Colon, 43, has completed seven innings in each of his last two outings. He is 2-2 with a 4.50 ERA through four starts.
