MIAMI -- Josh Harrison, Andrew McCutchen and Starling Marte have a chance to represent the Pirates at the 2016 All-Star Game presented by MasterCard at Petco Park, as all three are among the leading vote-getters at their respective positions.
Surprisingly, the first National League balloting update, released Wednesday by Major League Baseball, did not include Gregory Polanco, one of the NL's best hitters for nearly one-third of the season.

"Our guys will continue to play. Hopefully the fans will pay attention," manager Clint Hurdle said. "We have a good team. They play hard. They play the game the right way. [The fans are] going to vote for who they want to vote for. It doesn't matter what kind of lobbying the manager's going to do."
Harrison, who entered play Wednesday with the NL's fifth-highest batting average at .329, has received the fifth-most votes among NL second basemen. Harrison has tallied 163,314 votes, putting him behind the Cubs' Ben Zobrist (leading the way with 732,519 votes), the Nationals' Daniel Murphy, former Pirate Neil Walker and the Giants' Joe Panik.

Despite a slow start at the plate, McCutchen has received the most votes of any Pirate -- no surprise, given his perennial MVP-level production and status as one of the game's elite talents.
McCutchen is seventh among NL outfielders, with 306,123 votes, and three spots ahead of Marte, who has received 217,308 votes. Bryce Harper, Dexter Fowler, Yoenis Cespedes, Jason Heyward, Ryan Braun and Jorge Soler are currently ahead of McCutchen in the fan balloting, and Michael Conforto and Hunter Pence are sandwiched between McCutchen and Marte.

Polanco is not one of the NL's top 15 vote-getters in the outfield despite his continued development into a star. Polanco has been the Pirates' most dangerous hitter this season, batting .310/.386/.556 with eight home runs while leading the team with 36 RBIs and 38 runs.
Polanco's .942 OPS prior to Wednesday's game in Miami ranked ninth among all NL hitters. According to FanGraphs, Polanco has been worth 2.4 Wins Above Replacement this season, putting him behind only the Angels' Mike Trout, Fowler and the Marlins' Marcell Ozuna among all Major League outfielders.
