Jason Vargas was examined today in Florida by doctors from the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York. The doctors recommended surgery on his right hand to remove the fractured hamate bone. That surgery will occur Tuesday at HSS. Jason will return to his throwing progression approximately five days post-surgery.
