Memorial Day has special significance to Bochy

SAN FRANCISCO -- Memorial Day has a special meaning for many Americans. This includes Giants manager Bruce Bochy, a self-described Army brat born in France, since his father was stationed there at the time.

Wearing a camouflage Giants cap in the dugout prior to Monday's game, Bochy recognized the significance of the holiday.

"I think it's important for all of us to show our thoughts and appreciation for those who died for our country," Bochy said.

The Giants and Cubs observed the occasion by wearing special jerseys with the lettering and numbers on the uniforms in camouflage instead of their standard black.
