Mets to open 2017 with string of NL East games

Club to face AL West in Interleague action; four-game Subway Series in August

September 14th, 2016

WASHINGTON -- Though the Mets have slid all but out of the divisional race this year, they'll have an early opportunity to recapture the National League East from the Nationals in 2017. Six games against Washington highlight an April slate that contains exclusively NL East games for the Mets, according to the schedule that Major League Baseball released Wednesday.
The Mets will open their 2017 season April 3 against the Braves at Citi Field, moving on to play each NL East team twice in April. The Mets will not see a club outside their division until May 8, when they host the Giants at Citi Field. Along the way, they will make their first trip to Atlanta's new stadium in Cobb County, playing their inaugural games at SunTrust Park from May 1-4.
Mets' 2017 schedule
Other highlights of the 2017 Mets schedule include Interleague games at Citi Field against the Angels (May 19-21), A's (July 21-23) and Rangers (Aug. 8-9), as well as road trips to Arlington (June 6-7), Seattle (July 28-30) and Houston (Sept. 1-3).
2017 ticket plan deposits
The Mets will travel to Yankee Stadium for their annual Subway Series on Aug. 14-15, before hosting the Yankees the following two days.
If all goes well for the Mets and they remain in contention until the end, they'll close out their season back in the NL East, with a season-ending 15-game run against the Braves, Marlins, Nationals, Braves and Phillies.
