Mets pitcher Mejia suspended

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that New York Mets right-handed pitcher Jenrry Mejia has received a 162-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Stanozolol and Boldenone, performance-enhancing substances in violation of Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

The suspension of Mejia, who previously received an 80-game suspension for a performance-enhancing substance violation on April 11, 2015, is effective immediately.
