Mets place David Wright on 15-day DL

FLUSHING, N.Y. - The New York Mets today announced that third baseman David Wright will be placed on the 15-Day Disabled List with a mild strain of the right hamstring. He underwent an MRI this morning at the Hospital for Special Surgery and also received a cortisone shot. Wright will rest for two days and resume baseball activities as tolerated.

To replace Wright on the roster, the Mets have recalled infielder/outfielder Eric Campbell from Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League. Campbell will wear #29 and will be available for tonight's game.

Campbell hit .263 (50-190) with three home runs and 16 RBI in 85 games last year with New York. He had two home runs, two doubles, one triple and was hitting .550 (11-20) in six games for Las Vegas (AAA). He batted .246 (14-57) with six doubles, two home runs and nine RBI in 25 spring training games.
