Mets place Travis d'Arnaud on 10-day disabled list; recall Rafael Montero

The New York Mets today announced that they have placed catcher Travis d'Arnaud on the 10-Day Disabled List (retroactive to May 3) with a bruised right wrist and recalled righthanded pitcher Rafael Montero from Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League. Montero will wear #50 and start tonight's game for the Mets.

Montero will wear #50 and start tonight's game for the Mets.
 
Montero, 26, made his second Opening Day roster after breaking camp with the Mets this season. In six relief appearances for the Mets earlier this year, Montero was 0-2 with a 9.45 ERA (seven earned runs/6.2 innings) before being optioned to Las Vegas on April 19. In two starts for the 51s, Montero posted a 1.74 ERA (two earned runs/10.1 innings) with four hits allowed, 16 strikeouts and three walks.
 
In 30 career major league games (12 starts), Montero is 1-7 with a 5.51 ERA (49 earned runs/80.0 innings).
