Mets roster moves

The New York Mets announced today that they have placed infielder José Reyes on the 10-Day Disabled List, retroactive to August 16, with a sore left ribcage, optioned RHP Kevin McGowan to Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League and recalled infielders Gavin Cecchini and Matt Reynolds from Las Vegas. Cecchini (#2) and Reynolds (#15) are both active for tonight's game vs. the Yankees.

FLUSHING, N.Y., August 17, 2017 - The New York Mets announced today that they have placed infielder José Reyes on the 10-Day Disabled List, retroactive to August 16, with a sore left ribcage, optioned RHP Kevin McGowan to Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League and recalled infielders Gavin Cecchini and Matt Reynolds from Las Vegas. Cecchini (#2) and Reynolds (#15) are both active for tonight's game vs. the Yankees.
Cecchini joins the Mets for a second time this year after appearing in five games for the Mets from June 15-23. In those five games, Cecchini batted .286 (4-14) and hit his first major league home run off the Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw on June 19 at Los Angeles. In nine career games in the majors, Cecchini is batting .300 (6-20) with two doubles, one home run, four RBI and three runs scored.
Since the Triple-A All-Star Game, Cecchini was batting .287 (39-136) with eight doubles, one triple, three home runs, 14 RBI and 20 runs scored for the 51s. Overall, Cecchini was hitting .267 (121-453) with 27 doubles, three triples, six home runs, 39 RBI and 68 runs scored in 110 games for the 51s.
Reynolds joins the Mets for a fourth time this season after spending time in Flushing from April 26-June 11, June 16-21 and June 28-August 1. In 37 games for the Mets this season, Reynolds has batted .204 (10-49) with one triple, one home run and two RBI. In 84 games during his major league career, Reynolds has batted .217 (30-138) with eight doubles, one triple, four home runs, 15 RBI and 17 runs scored.
Since returning to Las Vegas on August 1, Reynolds has batted .346 (18-52) with five doubles, four RBI, 10 runs scored and a .433 on-base percentage in 13 games for the 51s. In 33 games total for Las Vegas this season, Reynolds was hitting .320 (41-128) with nine doubles, four home runs, 14 RBI and 27 runs scored.
