Williams among Marlins headed to Arizona Fall League

Other top prospects Dean, Riddle also set to play for Mesa Solar Sox

ATLANTA -- When the Minor League season ends in about a week, five Marlins Minor Leaguers will start preparing for a new beginning in October. Arizona Fall League rosters were announced on Tuesday, and some of organizations top young talent has been selected to play for the Mesa Solar Sox.

Representing the Marlins will be right-hander Trevor Williams, the club's No. 7 prospect according to MLB.com, and No. 9 prospect, outfielder Austin Dean. Infielder J.T. Riddle, the club's No. 16 prospect, right-hander Jacob Esch and lefty Raudel Lazo round out the list.

Williams, a second-round pick in 2013, pitched mostly at Double-A Jacksonville this season, where he was 7-8 with a 4.00 ERA. The right-hander currently is at Triple-A New Orleans.

Esch is 6-5 with a 3.48 ERA at New Orleans, and Lazo is 3-2 with a 2.15 with Jacksonville.

Riddle, a left-handed hitter who can play second, short and third, opened the season at Class A Advanced Jupiter, where he batted .270 before moving up to Double-A, where he's hitting .289. He's also appeared in a game at New Orleans.

Dean has spent the season at Jupiter, where he is batting .264.

Miami also is represented on the Solar Sox coaching staff. Jeff Schwarz will be one of the pitching coaches, and Ben Cates is one of the trainers.
