Miggy's 462-foot homer ends Tigers' scoreless streak

May 15th, 2016

BALTIMORE -- With one towering swing of the bat Saturday night at Camden Yards, Miguel Cabrera gave the Tigers' offense some life and ended a 17-inning scoreless streak.
Cabrera launched a fastball off Baltimore's Mike Wright into the Tigers' center-field bullpen -- and over the Orioles' bullpen -- for a 2-0 lead in the sixth inning of Detroit's 9-3 loss. The ball traveled 462 feet with a 25-degree launch angle and 111 mph exit velocity, according to Statcast™. It also gave Detroit some energy after wasting a masterful complete-game performance by Justin Verlander the previous night in a 1-0 loss to Baltimore.
Cabrera also redeemed himself after hitting into a double play with the bases loaded in the third. Prior to Cabrera's homer, the Tigers had not scored a run since the sixth inning of Thursday night's loss to the Orioles.
